Something you can do is press ALT-F2, hit Options, check run as different user, type in the root password and execute the installer this way. On Sunday 03 August 2003 03:17, Thinker wrote:
I have been trying to install Netscape (following the instructions). When I type ./netscape-installer form the installation directory (as the instructions, um, instruct) I get the following message.
Xlib:connection to ":0.1" refused by server Xlib: Invalid XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 key (failed by comparison)
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.1
What does this mean and how do I fix it. I have installed netscape before (on Mandrake 9.0) using this method, and I have never seen this error before. What do I need to do to fix this.
Thanks,
