woops, this is an old version of xine. Not the one from packman. The current versions are libxine1-1_rc5 (and libxine1-dvd-1_rc5) and xine-ui 0.99.1
The relevant plugins seem to be installed, by the looks of the output but
xine: xine_play xine: xine_play_internal ...done xine: found input plugin : DVD Navigator xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [dvd:/]
several lines are missing here that should be there even if it really can't
open the device. For example it should identify the device
Are you running with mixed versions of libxine and the plugins? What does
rpm -qa libxine1*
say?
The rpm query returns nothing. Very strange. I would have thought that all was up-to-date. The following is from the directory I ran rpm -Uvh *rpm from: tim@linux:~/RPMs/xine> ls alsa-1.0.5-0.pm.0.i586.rpm libxine1-dvb-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm curl-7.10.7-0.pm.1.i586.rpm libxine1-dvd-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libdvdcss-1.2.8-2.network.i386.rpm libxine1-esd-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libogg-1.1-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-flac-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libvorbis-1.0.1-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-ogg-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-opengl-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-aa-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-sdl-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-alsa09-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-w32dll-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-arts-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-xvmc-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-devel-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm speex-1.1.5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm libxine1-directfb-1_rc5-0.pm.0.i686.rpm Tim
