As an addon tip to this thread: I prefered to download and install the whole SuSE 10.1 DVD (3.5 GB), because my previous bad experience with all too slow download speed trying Internet installation during the beta period. I've also downloaded the Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.0.6 beta DVD iso (2.5GB), which was based on an interesting new principle. It's a combined Live/Install DVD. That is, after playing with the live dvd, it was possible to install Ubuntu/Gnome 2.14 with a new GUI tool from a running system, and thereafter with Synaptic add KDE and Xfce4 and other packages with useable speed from Internet.
