Ok, this is a little complex, so bear with me.
1. I have a Linux computer. It is connected to a wireless (802.11b) network. It also has an Ethernet port. 2. I have a Windows XP Pro laptop. It is not connected to any network. It has an Ethernet port.. 3. I want to connect to the wireless network on my laptop, using my SuSE PC (9.1 personal) as a gateway. Anyone know how to do this, how to configure it, etc?
Yes. You will need to deal with two things: 1) masquerading (which involves the firewall you are using on the laptop) 2) A 'cross-over' cable between the PC and the laptop. Note: This is not your ordinary Cat5 network cable. I don't use the SuSEfirewall so others can tell you how to set up masquerading. But no need to go there until you get the proper cable.
