On my desktop (8.2) I have my CD burner. I click on it to mount it and nothing happens. I right mouse on it and select mount, nada. I go to xterm and type 'mount /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder' and I get a message back saying only root can do that. Fine, I'll show you Mr. Computer...I su and do the same. Mr. Computer says to me: 'mount: block device /dev/cdrecorder is write-protected, mounting read-only /dev/cdrecorder: Input/output error mount: you must specify the filesystem type' I say to Mr. Computer, "Bite me!" then check my fstab. It says: /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto, user, exec 0 0 So what's the problem. I'm pretty pissed off at Mr. Computer. This episode reminds me of Office Space where the printer isn't working. Any help here? Also, sorry about the 'Mr. Computer' thing. I've been hanging around my kids too much.
