No its not because of that, its that the "tune is my own invention" part.
That lets you change the default -- probably an updated RFC -- like first IMAP only had INBOX, and later others were added, then a general namespace mechanism.
The name 'inbox' of a namespace is there in 10-mail.conf, but you can change that.
---- If that is the default, then it is unchanged, if it requires something from 10-mail.conf, then not, as nothing in the conf.d dir is used.
