VMware workstation is reasonable priced and works fine.
And VMware server is free and works fine also.
When did THAT go free??? I must have missed the announcement - thanks for the heads up!!!
Actually, I think VMWare player is free.

You need to have created a virtual server on a (not free) VMWare workstation.
If, however, you have a copy of Workstation already and have created a "virtual machine" then you can copy the machine over to your player install and use that.
Ah - and if you already have VMware, the player isn't really useful.. I use VMware mainly to deal with my palmpilot under linux.
Well, here's what I just did. I wasn't ready to purchase another copy of VMWare, but I have one already running on a Win2003 workstation. I copied the session over to my laptop, running 10.0 and VMPlayer. Now I have a VMWare session in my laptop, without needing to purchase another copy of VMWare. I had already paid the MS Tax for WinXP for the laptop, which I promptly removed. I do like the idea of trying out Palm Desktop under VMWare. I've yet to get the system to sync with my Zire 72. (I used to have no issue with my Tungsten E under 9.2 and 9.3.)
