Recently i bought an extern modem, because the intern (win)modem does not work.

It made me not happy :-(((((
I still cannot install and configure the modem under SuSE 6.3
Looking thru the HowtoŽs......Websites of WVDial and so one give me no usefull hints that i already have tryed. Maybe some of you will.......
Have you installed the modem with YaST? As far as I know, this only creates a symlink for /dev/modem, but it may help. I presume you've run 'wvdialconf' to set up wvdial, and you have the correct 'phone number and so on. If you've done all of this, and it still doesn't work, send the last few lines of the output of wvdial to the list (masking usernames, etc.). Hope you get it working, Chris -- Apologies to everyone who has been waiting for replies off me over the past few weeks - I've been away from my computer. I'll try to catch up with my email over the coming days, but don't be surprised if you get a reply in a month's time... __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
