Hi Anton, thanks for your reply, but before trying this route you suggested, I should point that I have installed another printer through CUPS without problem (brother dcp 7040). Even if this other printer is currently running without issues, is it possible that the issue you suggested could be the reason of the problem with xerox?

With this info now provided I would say the problem is that the printer just isn't supported by cups properly.
I did ask how they were connected. That's because, even with the information above, I can come up with a scenario where more than one printer is physically connected and its not a cups problem. For example, one is connected via the lp port and one is connected via a serial port. or USB port. Or network. So yes, the ** issue I suggested **, that of ** access control ** _could_ be the reason. So I ask again, how are these printers connected? Only when we know that can we say that cups does or does not support the printer. -- Engineers aren't boring people; we just get excited over boring things. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
