I am wondering if anyone knows of a site that defines what each of the linux packages is and does and that can be searched, so that if I was looking for emulators WINE, VMWare and CrossOverOffice would come up? And yes I know WINE is not an emulator :)
What about this?

It is not what you ask exactly, but it has a long list of programs, and clasified by what they do (in a short sentence). Most programs names have a link to their host site, and that is terribly nice. Not a bad display at all but the site could be a little more organized, sorry I just felt it was more an amateurish page with biggish text etc. A search feature would have been nice too, that actually works.
I think I'll stick to linux on TUCOWS and Google if I need to. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Licenced ex-Windows user (apart from Quicken) Registered Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 ========================================================================
