Rogrs is my cable ISP provider. They supply the model and give out a DHCP address. Yes I know out things like DynDNS. They also perform scans and if they find a listening SMTP or http server they send a notice asking you to remove it OR ELSE YOUR SERVICE WILL BE TERMINATED ! ! !
The Rogers host name is static, so long as you don't change hardware. So, I use an alias on the DNS server I use. The only ports I have open are ssh & imaps. Also, I don't know how much scanning they do on my tunneled IPv6 addresses (I've only got 2^72 of them). Several years ago, someone from Rogers mentioned they generally don't go after people with servers, but retain the right to, for those who run popular public servers. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
