Does your Wifi works flawlessly? Does it survive a suspend?
Yes, always. I've had zero issues with suspend to RAM/Disk using openSUSE 11.3. Currently using LXDE as my DE, and I have set it up to suspend to RAM when I close the lid... open it and it's reconnected to my WiFi in about 2 seconds. This is consistently the same all the time... suspending several times per day
I bought an 1005HA that came pre-installed with Ubuntu (09.10 with
I've also been running Ubuntu 10.10 on the 1005HA... also no issues at all. It really is an install and use situation with this netbook.. no tweaking no fiddling.. all features "just work" including WiFi, webcam, suspend, all Fn key combinations... CPU scales up and down on demand.
So, if you tell me, that this works for you without any problems with openSUSE 11.3 (maybe w/ updated kernel from HEAD?), this might be the trigger to invest the work and give it a try.
I'm not using Kernel:HEAD on the current install of 11.3.. just a default install from the current LXDE live CD, and a standard update from the default repositories.
Or maybe I should make and try out a Live USB from 11.4 RC1 that's about to come out RSN?
These also work fine (except of course any bugs from the RC). C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
