Thanks Basil for the pointer. xine now works but still has problems with some file formats. At least I'm making progress. Appears that installing nVidia drivers have affected the ability to play sof and wolfenstein. I'm happy for now and will have to add sof and wolf to my "to do list". Regards, Terry
I normally do not use xine, and have a feeling that xine had (for me at least) problem with being able to play all audio/video formats. However, I use vlc and this plays all formats.
