Hi guys, I just got back to linux after a REALLY long excursion in the UNIX world, and everything seems to have changed. Can anyone please tell me how to enable my telnet service again? I remember on redhat there was this "setup" utility
Thanks Bona
Like everyone else here says YOU DON'T WANT TO USE TELNET, DON'T EVEN INSTALL IT.
(Ok, done shouting).
Chances are that ssh is Already installed. Use Putty to connect to your box. Its free.
I can't believe anyone in the Unix world is still recommending telnet either.
I second this. Telnet is dead. It's one of thôose things that changed during your long excursion.... Jerry
