Dear SuSErs,
after reading all I can find on printing, at www.dosemu.org , and being stumped by 'wrong format octet stream' errors, it seems best work-around is to use "Ksnapshot" the take a snap of what one wants to print, and, then, to Print that "Ksnapshot" :)
. . . any other insights into DOSemu Printing are most Welcome.
Here's what I do: 1) Create a 'dos' printer.... (which can point to the same printer as you would normally print to) 2) Make the dos printer a 'raw' printer which means no filters, no ppd, nothing. Check in /etc/printcap when you're done creating this printer to see if it is labeled as: dos|raw 3) Go into /etc/cups and down at the bottom of: mime.types mime.convs you will find a comment like: # # Raw filter... # # Uncomment the following filter and the application/octet-stream type # in mime.types to allow printing of arbitrary files without the -oraw # option. # application/octet-stream application/vnd.cups-raw 0 - and uncomment them. 4) restart CUPS 5) Edit /etc/dosemu/dosemu.conf under 'printer settings' $_printer = "dos" $_printer_command = "lp -d dos -o raw" (and report back... :-) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
