hi
to make settings permanent, they have to be put in startup-files.
so put your command line:
export PATH......
in .bashrc and you should be up and away.

Hi folks.
I'd like to add something to my PATH variable: export PATH=$PATH:/dirs/mystuff But alas, after shutting down and starting up the next time, mystuff has been removed from PATH.
Second case: with xkeycaps I change the key for the decimal point into a key for a decimal comma, as is common in this part of the world. But alas, after starting up the next time, it's the decimal point again.
Anyone any idea why these changes are not permanent, what brings it back to its original state?
S.H.
