Hi List, I am working on a bug which entails loading a vanilla kernel. I am basically in the dark as to what effect this will have on my system. I tried a kernel.org kernel once with 10.3 and could not get it to work, I plan to install the 2.6.27-rc2 vanilla rpm. Any pitfalls to be expected?
Besides the mentioned opensuse additions to the vanilla kernel, like apparmor, netfilters (IIANM), xen, etc., just make sure you install the rpm via rpm -i and not U, which will add the kernel instead of replacing your present kernel, and it should be a situation you can use to work on the bug, but can easily go back to the full featured kernel when needed.
Thanks for the help everyone, I had forgotten the rpm -i bit, Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
