Actually, I think sendmail uses mbox by default. That's what it always delivered to here. I notice you're using Sylpheed, that mail program, unlike most other commonly used ones, uses the MH format. Mutt uses mbox. Maildir is a format that the Qmail MTA uses and is supported by many mail readers as an option but not a default.
Just out of curisoty, how are you delivering it to the mailbox, Procmail or Maildrop.
I am not currently using fetchmail and sendmail, as I am having problems getting sendmail to use port 25000. When I used them, I used procmail; and it indeed used the mbox format. I had used pine and mutt to read the messages. -- If this is timesharing, give me my share right now.
