I am looking to either get Quicken working on linux via Wine or an equal opensource option which can run on linux natively.
Quicken 2002 and 2004 are both supported on Codeweavers' wine product CrossoverOffice (http://www.codeweavers.com/). I don't know about Quicken98, but give it a try. Or you could upgrade... If you don't like either moneydance or GnuCash, I think you're out of luck wanting another accounting package on linux. If you like Quicken, just stick with that using wine.
Looking through the email I received from Icewalkers today I noticed that a new version of OPEN BUSINESS ACCOUNTING/INVENTORY had been released and was wondering if anyone has used the app and how it compares to Quicken?
Not used it, I'm afraid - I use GnuCash to run my business and find that it does everything I need in an accounting package. Its reports could do with some improvement but the devs efforts seem to be aimed mostly at the gtk2 port ATM.
