Hi,

There are more things to be counted. SuSE support told me that I had to

XFree 3.3.x to run Quake3 ( XFree on my machine always blurted out and left the TNT2 in a bad state ) but all that was needed was to upgrade the XF86-4 to 4.0.1.
Have you been using the SuSE update packages for XF4 for this card???
Yes, I have. And with good experience. I'm running Quake3, Heretic II and other OpenGL software w/o problems with the XF4.0.1 update. It's without doubt a better compilation than the XF4.0 that comes with SuSE 7.0. ( downloaded from ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86-4.0.1-SuSE/suse70 )
I'd say they have good marketing ( maybe marketing is being pushy on the packagers ? ),
Are you JOKING?!
No, I'm not joking ( well, not alltogether at least... :) . Look at microsoft. Not all bad software is due to bad programmers, more of it comes from marketing pushing too hard on the coders/packagers to release, and microsoft has an excellent marketing division ( which explains a lot ;-) - They too have their excellent software.
