I'm new to Linux and I just got the Suse 9.0 install on my P4 which is triple boot(Win98, Win XP & Suse9.0).

Another question is I understand that Suse 9.0 had 5 cd's but I just able to install the first two cd and I'm wondering how do I install the 3rd, 4th & 5th cd ?

Do I need to manually install the 3rd, 4th & 5th CD's ?
The simple answer is you install the additional "rpms" as found on the other CD's as you need them. How you do that is as follows: Go to YaST2 Control Center (you can find it on you "start menu") click on it. It will ask for the root pass word. Enter it (you install software as root) It will then give you a gui which includes "Install or remove software" Click on it. It will give you another screen where you can select additional software. (When you select one or more "rpms" it will tell you what CDs to install to have those rpms installed.) However, go slow on adding rpms, becasue each one you add has potential of being another Security Risk. (Don't forget to check for updates using YOU or fou4s, or your call) There are other ways to add rpms, but become comfortable with using YaST2 Control Center first. The advantage of it, is it checks dependencies, and runs SuSEconfig for you. Hope this helps HAND Gar (PS keep you posts to one question each, and you will stand a better chance of each question being answered.) -- In the Beginning was the Command Line ---Neal Stephenson -- __________________________________________________________________ McAfee VirusScan Online from the Netscape Network.
