Has anybody done this with SuSE? I've seen some very short descriptions about it, but they are generic and feel outdated (no YAST, well not SuSE at all...) and they always mention having a DHCP server at the linux box (without any great explanation to why). I have it at the NAT box and can not really change that - unless it really is impossible to do it otherways.
You need a DHCP server because PXE *uses* DHCP. It needs to get it's IP address and the name of the file it needs to boot. It will then get the boot file over tftp. (use atftpd for that) There's a lot of info here: http://www.kegel.com/linux/pxe.html You may also want to check out the suse-autoinstall list. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBh5ld4U2uQswGyDcRAmwlAJ4gMLpQq4faubIIi1WXio/0q3xlIwCfX5tv qDBRRdCzGxgQbi/W5y6ZWBc= =RFfI -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
