Ciao Darrin, all I can say (and I know it won't be of any practical help but encouraging) is that I own a HP LaserJet 1100 (the model with no scanner) installed on my system since SuSE6.0 (now 6.2) and I never had any problem. I setup the printer device using YaST and the only thing I had to change was the device (lp1 -> lp0) when I switched to kernel 2.2.x. Maurizio Il sab, 05 feb 2000, Darrin Ward ha scritto:
I have a friend who is having troubles installing printers using YAST /apsfilter. They are a HP Laserjet 1100a (lp0) and a Canon BJC 4650 (lp1).
Installed using YAST - works OK when we dump with (eg) dir > /dev/lp0
but printing using lpr fails (except using raw).
In the printer log file is the following entry each time (both printers):
%%[ Error: rangecheck; OffendingCommand: .putdeviceprops ]%% Unexpected interpreter error - 15. Error object: .putdeviceprops(1488)op_array(513)0x81b60f4: etc. etc.
I'm trying to convert this perosn from Windoze - but this isn't a good look! Any help would be appreciated.
