Did anyone knows how can i convert a ReiserFS partition to ext3?
I don't think that's possible.
The reason i want to do this is i want to transfer the linux partition to enother partition (bigger) with Norton ghost.
Not sure I understand. You mean you just want to copy the data from one ReiserFS partion to an ext3 formatted one? If so, take the volume offline and copy it.
Basically not on the fly. However, yes with work. This is just a thought on how to do it. 1. Backup all files on the drive partition that is to be changed. Besure to get all links and permissions 2. Because the drive is already partitioned fdisk is not needed. 2a.Unmount "umount /dev/hd*#" (*=a,b,c, d or etc.) (#=partition number the drive. 3. cd to your /sbin partition and look for "ls mkf*" mkfs mkfs.ext2 mkfs.minix mkfs.reiserfs mkfs.bfs mkfs.jfs mkfs.msdos mkfs.xfs 4. Use mkfs.ext2 /dev/hd*# (*=a,b,c, d or etc.) (#=partition number) YOUR drive is now erased! 5. Have support for ext3 compiled into the kernel. 6. Edit /etc/fstab to reflect /ext3 Example: /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 2 Use "mount" to mount the new /device or reboot. 7. copy all of your files back to the drive There maybe problems with this (like broken links are file that didn't get copied. Like I said just a thought on the subject.
