A few people have asked a 'so what?' question, what is there about the 4.x series that is of any improvement, any value> Fair enough, but lets face it, we have different contexts so some may apply to your specific needs, some many not. As I've said, many of the improvements are to the kernel, not the user side of things, and are to do with integrity and smooth running rather than 'blinding speed'. This is the kernel we're talking about! http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.0 http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.1 http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.2 4.3 was a merge ... mostly about hardware http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.4 .... most notably locks were removed from the TCP listener making it faster http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_4.5 Of course YMMV. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
