Does IBM or any other major computer vendor deliever pre-installed Linux and support for Linux on their mobile workstation/laptop models?
AFAIK, no. HP used to ship some models, but I was unable to find it on a recent search. However, HP has a very strong internal Linux organization. http://www.hp.com/go/linux Note that HP has been working with Linux since at least 1994 when Jon "Maddog" Hall (then at Digital which was eventuallt acquired by HP) met Linux Torvalds. Linux was ported to the Alpha initially by Jim Paradis in 1994.
