I have ahd two crashes lately in KDE. The display locks up and i can't do anything. Nor ctrl-alt-bksp nor ctrl-alt-del do anything, not does trying another console. Any idea what's up with this? Any suggestions for ways to break out of it. -- Bob Rea Hi Bob, about 10 months ago I experienced the same problem. I found it was originated by my (old) video card: it was a S3 Virge GX/2 4 MB (if I remember); the curious thing was this: with an identical video card I had no problem. The video bios was the same too. Probably the video chip had same strange mistake ... (I hope you will apreciate this _exact_ technical explication). I solved only substituing the card, no configuration nor XServer upgrade. hope this help ...
