Per,
I keep running into this problem at about this time of day (Mon 23 Mar 2020 11:19:43 PM PDT). USA/California.
The install tries to start and then a site named "download.../oss" seems to fail to respond. I get a popup and poke the retry button NUMEROUS times. Skip gets the same response. Abort works though. :-)
Hi George that sounds like a network problem - maybe too many people watching Netflix? :-) You should have plenty of good download mirrors accessible from California though. At most I would perhaps expect to see slow(er) downloads, but repeated timeouts is unusual.
The install system seems to run wicked but there's no ifconfig command so I can't check the interface.
'ifconfig', 'netstat' etc were deprecated long ago, they are still available, but not in the installer. Use 'ip' instead, e.g. 'ip addr show' to see addresses on all interfaces.
Do you have any clues or hints? I'm about to just give up on SUSE at this point in time.
My only guess is a network problem. Where do you get the ISO image from? If I try downloading the ISO from a mirror over your way, I get miserable rates, 10-20kb/s - which is to be expected. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-1.7°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
