Hi, I heard on several places that there is a crash of quanta+ when running on kde3.1b2. Well, the same happened to me, after installing kde3.1b2 the new quanta3 and the old quanta2 both crash with Sig11 right after starting them. Even when starting from console, no output at all. Also nothing about it in the quanta+ forum, just another report about the same problem. So in case someone else runs into this problem, I post a solution here. In a crazy moment I installed the latest cvs of kde3.1 on my production desktop (knowing I have my notebook as a backup), using the GREAT cvs mini howto from Anders (thanks!) posted on this list recently. Already after installing just arts, kbelibs and kdebase (no qt-copy, I already have the qt3.05 which came with kde3.04 installed, I guessed it was good enough) now not only kde runs fine, but quanta+ starts again and I can go back to work. Anders, without your howto I would not have dared it. Using your howto installing the cvs version is really easy. VERY helpful! (It was sometimes scary though to see the thousands of warnings at compiling, but no :-) errors.) Regards, Matt
