You forget to reply to the list. You are using thunderbird, so you should have a "reply to list" button.
First, you configure the router to send the log to the computer. Many can do that, but some can not. If yours can't, then this can not be done.
Well, I appreciate the effort, but it looks like my router won't be able to send the log regularly to the computer. My combination router/modem that I received from my ISP has been scrubbed to the point where lots of features were removed, I expect because the service company doesn't want to add to their troubleshooting load when people mess with it that don't know what they are doing.
Well, my router came also from my ISP and had it. Years later I replaced it with a TP-Link which also has it.
It has a manual save button, but you have to log into the router and click it with the mouse - there is no option to have it automatically save on a pc on the network at certain times.
No, it is not that function. In the logging details section, there is usually these settings: level of logging (normal, warning, debug, etc), and where to log. Default is local, ie, in router memory. Alternative is "remote", which means sending to port 514.udp of a machine in the network. If that machine is listening on that port, messages go to the syslog server daemon one by one as they are produced. This is important on any half serious installation because the router memory is volatile nad because of centralized logging. True, not all home routers have it. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R.
