My needs are fairly modest re. my cheap 'n' cheerful Fuji FinePix 1300 digital camera. Images can be accessed via the USB port... e.g. I can do things like:
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /camera (where /camera exists already)
Now I'd (maybe) like to put an entry into /etc/fstab like:
/dev/sda1 /camera rw,auto,user,exec 0 0
But the problem seems to be when nothing is connected and/or powered ---------snip------------ Heres the appropriate line from my /etc/fstab
/dev/sdc1 /media/camera vfat noauto, user 0 0 obviously your device and mountpoint are diferent but this may get you where you're going All i have to do is plug in the camera, turn it on and click the desktop icon I created for a disk called camera. I haven't tried deleting images off of the camera but it is no problem to copy them to harddisk for editing, etc. hth -- dh
