It seems that you are running the firewall script before you do the internet connection. Then, there is not ippp0 created. If I'm not wrong. SuSE firewall script is divided in two scripts. The first one is run before internet call and the second one is run after you have your dynamic IP. You should place your dial script between both. Hope this help you Carlos

trying to set a basic firewall do deny incoming telnets etc i get these msg at boot time and since i saw a telnet to my machine last night it seems my firewall is nor working TIA Rolando
