Sound works normally, except I must go into yast|hardware|sound to adjust the volume.
What's missing?
Look at the ownership and permissions in /dev/snd/ try chmod 666 /dev/snd/* How are you starting X? Are you logging in graphically, or are you booting to text mode and running "startx"?
