Still trying to track down why my dvd player won't automount (or whatever it is now called). I notice that /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf has the following: <!DOCTYPE busconfig PUBLIC "-//freedesktop//DTD D-BUS Bus Configuration 1.0//EN" "http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/dbus/1.0/busconfig.dtd"> but, of course, there is no busconfig.dtd on that website. Also: # ps -ef |grep hal 101 2760 1 0 02:18 ? 00:00:01 /usr/sbin/hald --daemon=yes root 2798 2760 0 02:18 ? 00:00:00 hald-runner 101 3178 2798 0 02:18 ? 00:00:00 hald-addon-keyboard: listening on /dev/input/event1 101 3224 2798 0 02:18 ? 00:00:00 hald-addon-acpi: listening on acpid socket /var/run/acpid.socket 101 3252 2798 0 02:18 ? 00:00:00 hald-addon-keyboard: listening on /dev/input/event3 root 3423 2798 0 02:18 ? 00:00:00 hald-addon-storage: polling /dev/hdc /dev/hdc is my dvd drive which the system won't automount. I'm wondering about this user 101 that owns the hal daemon. Am I running up against a permissions problem? # cat /etc/passwd |grep 101 haldaemon:x:101:102:User for haldaemon:/var/run/hal:/bin/false messagebus:x:100:101:User for D-Bus:/var/run/dbus:/bin/false Anyone care to guess? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
