How do I make a change to access a /windows/C folder? It keeps telling me that I don't have rights to access it.
From /usr/share/doc/sdb/en/html/kfr_18.html:
How can I mount a DOS partition in such a way that all users have writing and reading permissions? As mount option declare in /etc/fstab: umask. Example: /dev/sda1 /dosc umsdos umask=000
I created a link on the desktop to my win2k partition on another drive.
I would suggest to create a link to the win partition the same way you create a link to a new floppy device. (In KDE: Create new... Floppy device...) So by looking at the icon, you can see whether it's mounted. Then mount it manually only when you need it. For if the win2k partition is mounted permanently, it is also accessed by updatedb and all those cron jobs for the maintenance of the partition, which results in much more disc activity, especially if your win2k partition is big.
