[ as always, please don't send stuff like this to the list...sysadmin@suse.com is more appropriate ] * JW (jw@centraltexasit.com) [020120 10:44]:
I've tried wget, nt and kwebget, and all of them fail, I think the 2 guis use wget internally (I know kwebget does).
Why are you using tools designed for http?
It's not very nice. I use wget all the time at work and it never fails. I wonder if SusE is blocking it for some reason?
No.
Anyone have any ideas what else might be wrong? Here's wget's output: /pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_7.3/experimental ... done. ==> PORT ... done. ==> REST 3317368 ... done. ==> RETR kdebase3-2.91-4.rpm ... Error in server response, closing control connection. Retrying.
You need to use REGET, not a REST with the byte offset. e.g., ftp -a ftp.suse.com cd pub get ls-Ral.txt ^C 426 Transfer aborted. Data connection closed. reget ls-Ral.txt local: ls-Ral.txt remote: ls-Ral.txt : : -- -ckm
