On Tue, 16 Oct 2001 19:48:13 +0100 Hello Nick from Lourens:
I solved this problem after upgrading to a 40GB on my system. You should ensure that your BIOS is not set to [Auto] (both disks) - set it to [User HDD Type]. Boot off the CD and rerun LILO.
Very many thanks for this Lourens. Before I made the BIOS changes you
mentioned I couldn't even boot off of the CD-drive. Now I can and I've
also been able to install a working LILO on a floppy (for the time
being, I prefer to start-up Linux this way).
Now it's time to start thinking about setting up my Stylus 580 to work
under Suse Linux. Or shall I just bang my head against a wall for a week
or two? It's a terrific relief when you stop <grin>.
Regards,
Nick.
