Comcast has been taken over by TimeWarner. I've been told to update my email to roadrunner via IE with ActiveX. I cannot do that since I'm running Linux. Anyone face this problem who can give me the instruction for a Linux User? Hope I'm not the only one facing this problem.
Several years ago here Time Warner was replaced by Bright House Networks. When I signed on to cable, the switch had already been made. There were 4 ISP choices then, Road Runner (tampabay.rr.com), AOL (aol.com), Earthlink (earthlink.net), and Internet Junction (ij.net). I chose IJ because they were the smallest, with the best email name. Last month, BHN terminated IJ's contract, forcing everyone who wants to keep cable to choose one of the remaining 3. Those who do nothing in response automatically get switched to RR. I chose EL, but paid IJ to keep my email addresses. As a result, I didn't have to change anything, only just make one phone call to EL, and get 6 months of about $12/mo discount. If you use an internet router, the only thing you may need to do is reset the modem when they actually turn on the switchoever. Check and make sure that Road Runner is your only option before it's too late. Odds are it's the most expensive if you do in fact have other options. -- "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped." Psalm 28:7 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
