Hi! I used the openSuSE 10.1 beta1 , found a new tools (compared with SuSE10) NetworkManager. what is the NetworkManager, when could I use that. I have a network card using static IP usually in my laptop, and sometimes I used wireless to get internet by my laptop . Can I use the NetworkManager switch them ?
Yes, in general
How can config a static IP for my network card ( no wireless )by NetworkManager.
You could use dhcp with an assigned IP. It might be possible to configure the static IP but I do not know how. I'll ask the experts.
I only can start the wireless using NetworkManager.
You can use the 10.0 way as well with ifup/ifdown and kinternet, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
