I purchased Corel Office WP 2000 Linux and was very disappointed with it. It was windows apps running on a putzed version of wine. It took 100MB of memory just to open the help application. I ran strace on it and was stunned by the number of internal crashes they were hiding..... just like Win2000 and its phantom reboots.
I use WP2000 on 3 distros, including my mainstay of SuSE 7.2. I have had no problems, crashes, or anything at anytime, just the ability to work as quickly as I would have done in winders. I never had the memory problems you have seen either.
When I saw the results of the strace I immediate asked for and received a refund. Linux doesn't need apps like that. SO 5.2 or SO 6.0 are great. KOffice is coming along nicely, as is Open Office. I haven't tried Hancom Office but it sounds good in the blurbs.
Linux does need an app(suite) like that if it is to migrate new winders users to Linux. KO, OO, SO, or Hancom .. I cannot work in a medical environment without the tools to support this like WP has. Write a letter, note, sure, the others will do, but none supports professional specific writing like WP.. just my 2c... Also Quattro Pro and Paradox 9 are superb. -- Best regards, Gary Today's thought: If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before. With proper diet, rest, and exercise a healthy body will last a lifetime. The right half of the brain controls the left half of the body. This means that only left handed people are in their right mind. Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they pissed me off.
