TIFF is a bog standard format so you shouldn't have any problems. What program did you use? Certainly, the GIMP will handle TIFFs (there's no difference between TIF and TIFF - the former is just because Windows only handles 3-letter extensions; it just stands for "tagged image file format").
What app did the other person use to generate them? You could ask for PNG files, which is another lossless format.

Actually Gimp has quite a few problems with various tiff formats (there seem to be several). KFax viewer does fairly well. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
