Me, if I were using btrfs, I would dedicate a large partition, of 100 GB, and leave all the snapshots. I'd want all the whistles, not tuned down features.
qe where asked to use twice the previous size, it's not enough anymore. I use many packman media files, very often recompiled, so: du -shx / 9,3G / btrfs fi show Label: none uuid: 05617c4f-cc09-43a4-9fc7-1de36cdf8c30 Total devices 1 FS bytes used 15.23GiB devid 1 size 40.00GiB used 19.00GiB path /dev/sdb1 Well... I just decided to be very aggressive in the "I don't want snapshots". packman media-related applications changes nearly everyday! this makes snapshots very big. I had to remove all but the last one and run balance with 75% to recalim part of the size. btrfs fi show Label: none uuid: 05617c4f-cc09-43a4-9fc7-1de36cdf8c30 Total devices 1 FS bytes used 12.26GiB devid 1 size 40.00GiB used 15.77GiB path /dev/sdb1 I even set numbers to zero. I will have one full day (a bit more: 1800s) to notice if something goes wrong. After all I never used this snapshot feature in the past... jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
