Isn't this?
# vers=6.8.1-1-default;make clean modules KERNEL_UNAME=$vers;make
modules_install KERNEL_UNAME=$vers; depmod -A; make clean
KERNEL_UNAME=$vers
In other words, shouldn't depmod be run before make clean, i.e.,
immediately after make install?
