If the interface is configured with a static IP in YaST, then the dhcp client won't start or /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-id-* can be manually changed from BOOTPROTO='dhcp' to ... BOOTPROTO='static'
I have reconfigured the interface to use DHCP. Now I want to configure the DHCP client not to bring the interface up and down.
How do I do this?
I have added DHCLIENT_ADDITIONAL_OPTIONS="-o" to the wireless interface ifcfg but with this entry I do not get any IP address.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

If you are intending to have different setups depending on where you are located, the Profile Manager in YaST --> System will allow you to do that, so when you boot up, you can select the appropriate profile.
