Can NTFS be mounted to allow writing in SuSE 9.0? I found a message in this forum last year that mentioned NTFS write support in the 2.6 kernels for SuSE. I have the latest Mantel 2.6 kernel installed and my NTFS media is still mounted read-only.
Thanks for the advice!
http://www.jankratochvil.net/project/captive/ is the only NTFS writable from Linux drivers I know of. It requires a licensed copy of the latest XP NTFS drivers so it isn't totally open source. Can't find any info regarding the 2.6.x kernels. I am using it with SUSE's 2.4.21-202-athlon and vmware 4.5 and dual booting into Win2K. So far so good. I don't have any mission critical data on Win2K that isn't backed up somewhere else so I don't care if it gets trashed. So far there has been no data loss or irregularities. Stan
