I stuck the line /dev/hda root:disk 666 into /etc/permissions, in the hope that this will fix the problem. Unfortunately this does not work either, i.e. after a re-boot, the permissions are back to brw------- 1 root disk 3, 0 Oct 2 2004 /dev/hda
Running SuSEconfig --module permissions fixes the problem, until the next boot.
Perhaps '/etc/logindevperm', but that is at login time. It could be udev, but I don't know if 9.2 uses it. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDy4/EtTMYHG2NR9URAuK3AJ0QefrpACJ6FF3NncdYp0MSjDf0bwCeJ1B/ BrPidxyuL36tGMVa7FV3axo= =/Rr3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
