After that you can install source packages and their dependencies with
zypper si <package name>
e.g.
zypper si gtk2
will install the gtk2 source package, along with all dependencies needed to build it

Thank You Anders, I found the problem after re-adding as you suggested. It seems I had either carried over repos from a type when the repositories were set up differently or done something else equally brilliant. I had: [src-oss] name=openSUSE-11.0-Oss-Src baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/src-oss/suse/ path=/ type=yast2 I needed [src-oss] name=openSUSE-11.0 src-oss baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/src-oss/suse/ type=rpm-md ^^^^^^^^^^^ I must get more sleep.... -- David C.
