What adjustments do I need to make in order to get it to work? (I think that gtk2 is the SUSE equivalent for gtk+ but you can correct me if I'm wrong).
It is a gtk1 app, you need to install:
gtk gtk-devel
They can coexist with gtk2.

Thanks again Charles But this feels like a none starter (This is where I start getting frustrated with linux). I have both gtk and gtk-devel installed (version 1.2.10). I also have id3lib and id3lib-devel installed (version 3.8.2-200). I continue to get errors from running the configure script i.e. checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.7... no *** Could not run GTK test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK was incorrectly installed *** or that you have moved GTK since it was installed. In the latter case, you *** may want to edit the gtk-config script: /opt/gnome/bin/gtk-config checking for ogg_sync_init in -logg... yes checking for vorbis_comment_init in -lvorbis... yes checking for ov_open in -lvorbisfile... yes checking for Ogg Vorbis file support... yes checking for libFLAC... yes checking for system libflac version... 1.1.0 checking for library containing ID3Tag_Link... no configure: error: id3lib not found Any thoughts?
