Hi guys, I'm having a curious problem. I'm trying to set up samba-vscan with clamd. The vscan-clamav.conf file needs to know the path of the socket to connect to. clamd.conf doesn't have socket enabled by default, but the line is there, commented out. So I uncomment it: LocalSocket /var/lib/clamav/clamd-socket Now clamd fails to start. I get this: Server:~ # /etc/init.d/clamd start Starting Clam AntiVirus daemon startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/clamd: 1 failed And in the logs, with verbose logging enabled in clamd.conf: Apr 20 16:32:44 Server clamd[16230]: Daemon started. Apr 20 16:32:44 Server clamd[16230]: clamd daemon 0.86.2 (OS: linux-gnu, ARCH: i386, CPU: i686) Apr 20 16:32:44 Server clamd[16230]: Log file size limited to 1048576 bytes. Apr 20 16:32:44 Server clamd[16230]: Verbose logging activated. Apr 20 16:32:44 Server clamd[16230]: Two modes (local & TCP) selected. And nothing further. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks Hans
