I spend a good deal of time tonight, trying to discover what is wrong, in part anyway, with the DVD install of 11.0. First, it doesn't matter what flavor of window manager one selects....it barfs every time. I've d'l the image 3 times and make 3 DVDs and tried installs on 1 HP desktop and 1 Dell laptop. I just tried on an IBM dual P3 all SCSI box.........SAME thing on all boxen!
What appears to happen is that there's a bug in a script when the install gets to select the "minimal file selection" or something worded like that. It also dies on an upgrade from 10.3.
'Doesn't do much good to get the bugs worked out when one can't install from the ISO.

Have you tried to install selecting KDE and automatic install. Nothing more. It worked here.
No, as I didn't want my /home dirs. to be eliminated. I'm not sure what all the "automatic" install would do.

-- Linux is an old Latin word meaning, "I don't have to support your Windows anymore." I used a downloaded ISO (downloaded when beta three was out about 3 days). I installed it this past Monday (fresh install) with no problems except the boot loader configuration. My system is a 32 bit P4. The install picked the correct vertion of OS (pae). all my normal applications that I have tested so far work. Still have not done all the updates. I used custom install.
